NHS National Services become Cycle Friendly Employer

Congratulations to NHS National Services on achieving Cycling Scotland's nationally recognised Cycle Friendly Employer Award. The award was given to their South Gyle office, based in Edinburgh, after working with the Bike Station's A better way to work project.

The office has lots of cycle parking, good showering and changing facilities and consequently lots of cyclists. That hasn't stopped Markus Hiemann of NHS NS who has tirelessly continued to promote cycling in his work place, regularly using services offered by the Bike Station, such as:

  • Dr Bike, bike servicing events;
  • travel surgeries;
  • bike rides;
  • access to maps and other cycle promotion tools.

The award is a great opportunity for employers to demonstrate their commitment to cycling, the environment and their employees. Do you think your work place is a Cycle Friendly Employer? If so, read on...

The Bike Station was recently named Scotland's first Cycle Friendly Employer Service Centre. If you would like to become a CFE the Bike Station team can now help you become one.
